The IRS Announces Health Plan Limits For 2026

The IRS Announces Health Plan Limits For 2026

On May 1, 2025, the IRS issued Rev. Proc. 2025-19 in which it announced cost-of-living adjustments for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) and excepted benefit Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) for 2026. These changes will become effective in calendar year 2026 for HSAs and HDHPs and for plan years beginning in 2026 for HRAs. With the exception of catch-up contributions to HSAs for individuals aged 55 or older, which are not discussed in the Revenue Procedure, all dollar limitations will increase from 2025 to 2026.
