The IRS recently issued Rev. Proc. 2023-23 in which it announced cost-of-living adjustments for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) and excepted benefit Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).
These changes will become effective in calendar year 2024 for HSAs and HDHPs and for plan years beginning in 2024 for HRAs. With the exception of catch-up contributions to HSAs for individuals age 55 or older, all dollar limitations will increase from 2023 to 2024. (See the chart below.)
